Look up the dangers of hydrogenated oils and you will see it's no wonder your health has degenerated and you can't get into shape as easily as you would like. Your health food is junk food. And more recently (over the last 20 years) the 'low' fat, 'no' fat, and 'fake' fat diets have been depriving people of even more essential fats. This means we not only eat bad fats in everything we buy but we are cutting back on what little good we used to eat to begin with.
What can we do? Well, that is up to you. The Harvard School of Public Health warned of the dangers of eating margarine, commercially baked snack goods, and deep fried foods instead of real butter, but you didn't listen. It was all over the news. Processed fats are NOTHING LIKE good fats like extra virgin olive oil (means the olive hasn't fallen from the tree before processing) and fresh nut or seed oils. And it isn't always enough to simply add fish to the diet or have a tablespoon of flax seed oil.
Too much of one essential fat over another will cause a deficiency of ALL the fats. Using flax oil alone can actually lead to a shortage of omega 6 fats if you aren't careful. Why? It's like taking Vitamin C alone. Other nutrients must be present for it to work properly. If they aren't present, the body is either leached of the nutrients required or you are painfully forced to reject the key nutrient you hoped would help you.
Individual fats (triglycerides, cholesterol, phospholipids, etc) all are responsible for the production of the precursors for every single one of your body's actions, hormones, tissues and cells. This includes the ones for creating a baby, controlling acne, building muscle and burning body fat. But in order to understand how to get the proper balance, let me give you a quick lesson on GOOD vs BAD fats.
Good fats act as anti-oxidants, anti-inflammatory agents, and produce fat burning enzymes. Cholesterol is an essential fat that coats every cell in your body and that is another of the good fats (you read that right). You MUST also ingest another fat source called gamma linolenic acid just to activate your 'good' brown fat cells to burn away your bad and ugly 'white' fat cells too. Borage oil is a good source of this one. Think cellulite....
Cellulite is caused in part by margarine and lards which are unfortunately marketed as natural oils because they are 'cholesterol' free. Well, they really aren't good for you and these things are what is killing you. Drop these unnatural fats and all foods containing them from your diet then watch your 'bad' LDL cholesterol levels decrease, cellulite disappear and your eyes open. It isn't genetics that made you fat. It's your EATING HABITS.
I used to recommend a combination of essential fatty acids which corrected all these issues for you but I felt as the years passed, the quality of the source was diminishing. I would order it and not only had the delivery time become unpredictable, but it tasted more and more stale each month. Although I admire the man who formulated another ultimate perfected oil product, his company was not to my satisfaction either.
